Ein Blick in die Zukunft.

Felix Alexander, Development Manager, CODIC Development GmbH – At CODIC, we see professional development training not just as a process, but as an active learning journey where knowledge is deepened through direct interaction with the world beyond our everyday lives. Our Learning Journey to Boston, led by Raphael Gielgen, was another success.

Practical research in the local education ecosystem
Our meetings with leading international institutions such as MIT, Harvard and Northeastern University brought us close to the local ecosystem of innovative education and research. We realised the importance of a learning environment that encourages initiative and the immediate application of learned concepts. Ideas and projects go from theory to practice in the workshops next door. This is complemented by an impressive link to financial flows from the private sector, suggesting that real innovation and major challenges can only be met through a collective will.

Optimism and renewal
The enthusiasm for the future in Boston reflects the spirit we foster at CODIC and bring to our partnerships. The relentless sharing of knowledge and curiosity is fundamental to implementation. It’s about not standing still, but challenging ourselves and creating projects that inspire us.

Areas are revitalised by people
In addition, our interactions with the communities at the Jamestown Innovation & Design Centre have highlighted the importance of dedicated curators. Individuals who carefully select objects, understand the network and bring people together are essential until a vibrant place emerges from the community itself. This requires motivated partners and fruitful co-creation processes.

The future happens in space
Boston is simply a window to the future. Inspiring meetings with pioneers such as Boston Dynamics, Autodesk and Realtime Robotics motivate us not just to observe innovation, but to actively shape it and integrate it into our projects. We have realised that concepts such as “Space as a Stage”, with their sustainable and multifunctional approaches, are key factors for functional spaces. Ultimately, space provides a framework for ideas – but truly great ideas require extraordinary spaces.

Transformative approach
For us, it remains clear that in an environment where knowledge work is undergoing tremendous change, we need to continually evolve and challenge ourselves. Perhaps even reinvent ourselves. In this continuous process of self-reflection and renewal lies the opportunity not only to keep pace, but also to help determine the direction in which our working world is moving. The agility to reinvent and adapt is not a luxury, but a necessity in an age where technological advances and global connectivity are the norm. We understand that by constantly rethinking our methods and breaking old patterns of thinking, we can develop more creative and sustainable solutions to tomorrow’s challenges. It is this transformative approach that allows us to be not only participants but pioneers in the transformation of knowledge work.
